The . British Racing Drivers’ Club will award Richard Noble a special Gold Star and honorary membership of the club at its annual dinner later this month in recognition of his achievement in establishing a new world land speed record,,-.: - / . \ w ; ; The first Gold Star awards were presente®.in
1929 to Sir Henry Segrave for the record he established at Utah and to Sir Malcolm Campbell for his world records set in South Africa. B.R.D.C. awards were also presented to John Cobb (1938 and 1947) and Captain George Easton (1938) in honour of their successful record attempts. ..
