of the macabre, George A. Romero; * . who also has directed such cult classics as “Night of the Living Dead” and “Dawn of the Dead.” The original screenplay for this anthology of short stories is by Stephen King, the author of such hoitor
novels as “Carrie,” . ‘The Shining” “the Stand “Firestarter” and “Cujo.” King also playd the leading role in one of his own tales of terror. The cast also includes Hal Holbrook, Carrie Nye, E. G. Marshall and Viveca Lind-
fors as Aunt Bedelia. Each story includes a different monster or horror of its own, ranging from drowned people returning from the sea, the thing from outer space, and the other thing inya crate from the Antarctic and a plague of bugs. ’
