T.V. Eye makes vinyl

T.V. Eye is an Invercargill independent label which, up to now, has released only cassettes. Now it has its first album, “Who’s That?” by the curiously-named Say Yes To Apes. They were formerly the Picnic Boys, well-known to independent cassette buyers.

The band has emigrated from Invercargill to Christchurch, and hopes to play live soon. The album, which is in the shops now, was described by a Yes-man as “not country and not heavy metal.” What does that leave?

T.V. Eye, which is run by one of the band, is still going strong and has sold more than 70 tapes in the last few months, making it one of the leading such outlets in New Zealand.
