Missing windsurfer’s body found

The body of a windsurfer who went missing in the Avon River at Kerrs Reach on Tuesday evening was found early yesterday morning. He was Neil James Curragh, aged 20, of West Melton. The Christchurch police said Mr Curragh got into difficulties while windsurfing about 11.30 p.m. He called out but three friends in a. dinghy nearby were unable to find him. Police in boats and divers searched the area for about two hours before finding the body about 1.30 a.m. yesterday.
