N.I. road toll rises to six
PA Wellington Six persons died on North Island roads during the week-end, said the Ministry of Transport yesterday.

Another man died as a result of injuries suffered in an accident on September 18.
All the week-end accidents occurred in the North Island — at Auckland, Mangere, Hamilton, Rotorua, Wanganui, and Bunnythorpe. The previous week-end 13 persons died on North Island roads. A Kawerau man died as a
result of a head-on collision between the motor-cycle he was riding and a car at Rotorua on Sunday. He was James Albert Drysdale, aged 33, of Kawerau. Mr Drysdale was dead on arrival at hospital. A Cambridge man, injured during motor-cycle races nine days ago, died in Auckland Hospital on Sunday evening. He was Neil William Mathews, aged 22, who was admitted to Whakatane Hospital after being injured on September 18.
He was later transferred to Auckland Hospital, where he died.
