Grammar School’s future

Sir, — Finally the board of the Cathedral Grammar School has cast away its whims and shelved the proposal to make the school coeducational to Standard 4, allowing the character and tradition of a long-established boys’ preparatory choir school to continue. Expansion of the existing pre-school, set up by the present headmaster, in the near future will be in the interest of both school and parents. The preschool is integrated into the school and is unique in what it provides daily to boys and girls. It is sad to see the headmaster and his wife leaving the school because both have contributed an untold amount towards the character and running of the school. They have exceptional experience in music and teaching. Their popularity with the boys is a fine example of their success. The school has much for which to thank them. — Yours, etc.,
