E. German flees
A 25-year-old East German has fled across the heavily fortified border into West Germany, the second such flight in three days: The refugee, whom Communist guards spotted only when he had already evaded the automatic firing devices and hidden mines installed on both sides of the fence, escaped unharmed. A 30-year-old East German fled across the same border on Thursday. — Hanover.
