Weedkiller found
PA Dunedin Detectives yesterday recovered two drums of a “super toxic” chemical stolen last week from an agricultural services store at East Taieri. The chemical, a weedkiller known as Thimet 20 G, was recovered after a member of the public gave the police information.
The drums, which were found intact in Victoria Road, St Kilda, had been stolen with several other containers of weed and scrub killers. Detective Sergeant J. G. Doyle said discovery of the chemical saved what could have been “considerable heartache and possible tragedy.”
