Aucklander to search for ship
PA Auckland Mr Harry Schofield, of Auckland, says he plans to search the world for a passenger liner to establish cheap cruises out of Tauranga. Mr Schofield, who has experience running restaurants and clubs, hopes to form the Cruising Club of New Zealand which would offer members “no frills” cruises.
He said he will soon call for members who will be given the opportunity of buying a maximum of five $lOOO shares, or a yearly subscription of $5O.
Once Mr Schofield has about 600 members and has raised about $1 million he will look for a ship of between 4000 and 8000 tonnes.
