’Quake toll 13
NZPA Manila The death toll from the earthquake in the northern Philippines rose to 13 yesterday, with 16 people injured, the National Disaster Rescue Co-ordinating Centre reported yesterday. The earthquake, which
struck the Ilocos Norte province with an intensity of seven on the Rossi-Forel scale of nine, also destroyed three commercial buildings in the provincial capital, Laogag, and caused at least five bridges in the area to collapse.
