Parliamentary reporter A bill to implement the changes in land tax announced in the Budget was introduced by the Government yesterday. The Land Tax Amendment Bill contains clauses to withdraw the land tax exemption for independent superannuation funds, and to exempt from land tax the
land on which the principal abode of the owner stands. It will apply to assessments of land tax from March 31, 1984. Also introduced was the Land Tax Annual Bill, which fixes the rate of land tax on land held at noon of March 31, 1983, at the same rate which applied last year.
