Halswell quarry to get new crusher
A new crusher will be bought for the Halswell quarry. The Christchurch City Council’s works and traffic committee has recommended the purchase of a new crusher, for about $57,000, from a Matamata company. The new crusher will be to ensure that crushed aggregates from the quarry
'continue to match roading requirements. The streetworks maintenance engineer, Mr B. H. Scott, said that the new equipment was needed because the quarry was producing only cheap items and the expensive materials had to be bought elsewhere The new crusher will shape material to a squarer form and produce more fine products.
