Success for paraplegics

Three members of the New Zealand team show off their medals at Christchurch Airport yesterday after their return from the thirty-second Stoke Mandeville International Paraplegic Games in Aylesbury, England. From left are Roly Crichton, of Christchurch, Trish Hill, of Oamaru, and Graham Condon, of Christchurch. Between them they won 16

medals, assisting New Zealand to nineteenth place on the medal count among the 36 nations which took part. Trish Hill set a world record of Imin 3s in winning the slalom, and also won the gold medal in the pentathlon. Crichton won the 50m freestyle swimming in a world record time of 37.945. Condon bad the distinction of winning three silver medals in track and field.
