Mr H. W. Wilson
Mr Horace William Wilson, who had a long association with the frozen meat industry and was well known in bowling circles, died this week. He was 76. Mr Wilson was born at Oxford. He lived in Christchurch most of his life.
After leaving the Christchurch Technical College, he began work at the Islington freezing works at the age of 14, in 1920. In February, 1922, he joined the permanent staff of the company as an office boy. He later became chief clerk, and then industrial negotiator. He subsequently became works manager for 12 years before retiring in 1971.

Paparua County Council, which he represented in the early days of the Town Planning Authority. He was a keen bowls player, in first the Hornby and then the Fendalton Bowling Clubs, becoming president of each. The Fendalton club, for whom he was treasurer for 13 years, made him one of its four life members. Mr Wilson is survived by two sons.
