Improvements at racecourse

Sir,—After spending an enjoyable day at Riccarton racecourse last Saturday, I would like to congratulate the officials of the Canterbury Jockey Club for the wonderful improvements they have made there. The whole family can spend a nice time there now in comfort. As far as I can see, there is only one thing lacking, and that is hand rails on the stairs up to the stand from the lounge. Elderly and handicapped folk would appreciate this extra facility at future meetings at Riccarton.—Yours, etc., ELIZABETH TAYLOR. August 2, 1983.
