PA Wellington The Government has allocated more money in the Budget for development of agriculture and horticulture education courses. The Minister of Education, Mr Wellington, said that $190,000 would be allocated over the next three years for development of syllabuses and resources. This is in addition to the $400,000 allocated to secondary schools in the last two years to enable them to establish horticultural units. The National Consultative Committee of Agriculture Education and the Education Department will use $40,000 of the grant during the next year to develop the integration of agricultural and horticultural topics into teaching programmes for all children, Mr Wellington said.
