S. African wins golf

NZPA London The popular South African golfer, Hugh Baiocchi, snatched the $35,000 top prize in the State Express Classic at the Belfry course in Sutton Coldfield today.

He sank a four-metre birdie putt at the first sud-den-death play-off hole to beat the Irishman, Eamonn Darcy, and the American, Mike Sullivan, after they had tied with nine-under-par total! of 279.
