NZPA-Reuter Nantes Australia’s Phil Anderson and Ireland’s Sean Kelly closed on the Tour de France cycling race leader, Kim Andersen, of Denmark, after the 58.5 km time trial from Chateaubriant to Nantes. Victory went to the Dutchman, Bert Oosterbosch, a specialist in this form of cycling who won in
Ihr 18min 345. The Australian is now lying second over all, 42 seconds behind the Dane, with Kelly third, 57 seconds from the leader. The New Zealander, Eric Mackenzie, had a bad day, finishing 131st in the time trial in Ihr 34min 07s. He slipped two further places back to 127th, and now lies 42 minutes behind the leader.
