Friday TIMARU Sweeney Todd (Race 6), br g, 8 yrs. by Country Dance— Queenscliff; trained at Washdyke bv E. P. Corboy. Impressive in winning at his only three previous starts over country. Hardly likely to be overawed by this company, and should find no difficulties with the fences on his home track. THAMES JUSTIN EVANDER (Race 9), b g, 5 yrs, by Great Evander—Jureena; trained at Drury by P. T. Wolfenden. Consistent type, which should have little’ trouble against a field of very mixed quality, even from an awkward mark. Saturday AVONDALE KIRRA SON (Race 1), b g. 6 yrs, by Kirrama—Remember Molly; trained at Takanini by C. M. Jillings. Talented chaser with two recent wins over country on his record. Fifth on the flat last time out but should be a different proposition alto-
gether when back in a jumping role tomorrow. METROPOLITAN REGAL MAINA (Race B),b g. 3 yrs. by Scotch AbbeRegal Return; trained at Rakaia by D. G. Low. Has won four of his six starts to date and looks top material. Will not find it easy from back mark, but is well capable of overcoming that handicap. WELLINGTON TOM’S DECREE (Race 3), b g, 4 yrs, by Devine Decree— Hollv’s Lass: trained at Feilding by D. and K. Grubb. Kept useful record moving with impressive victory against the sprinters at Wanganui on Tuesday. Should not find it difficult to keep his record intact against tomorrow's oppositon. Straight double The T.A.B. straight double tomorrow will be on the Whyte Handicap at Wellington and the Fourex Cup at Doomben, Brisbane.
