Invitation to rugby players
Sir,—What a ludicrous situation: millions watching and enjoying a New Zealander and a South African playing sport together, shown over and over again, and a standing ovation. Surely there is no reason now why anyone can object to Bernie Fraser and the others accepting an invitation to travel. They deserve to get something back for what they have put into sport. They will reach their own conclusions while away, something they will be unable to do by declining the invitation. Those seven All Blacks have an opportunity of doing something constructive for our country rather than the damage being caused by Messrs Minto, Richards and the rest of HART. What a wonderful it
would be if the seven All Blacks were given the same support as that given to Chris Lewis. — Yours, etc., J. E. STUART, Hokitika. July 3, 1983.
