PA Auckland A last-second basket by Tom DeMarcus gave Central HotelNapier victory over 2ZB Centrals 79-78 in a Countrywide basketball league game at the week-end. Centrals led for most of the game, but a couple of crucial turnovers handed possession to Napier who capitalised. Auckland Metro looked a
good prospect for a place in the league final on July 24, when gaining two wins at the week-end beating Exchequer Saints 75-70 in a sloppy game, and then Nelson Bowater Datsun 79-72.
