Helicopter buy
The Philippines will buy 19 helicopters from the Sirkorsky aircraft company of the United States for an undisclosed amount. Two will be UH6OA Black Hawk attack helicopters with provisions for up to two M6O machine-guns, infra-red jamming flares, and “Hellfire” anti-tank missiles. The remaining 17 will be 576 Spirit helicopters to be used in counter-insurgency, logistics support, medical missions, search and rescue, and general purpose transport.—Manila.
