PA Auckland The Prince and Princess of Wales will go from their Australasian visit directly to the Bahamas for a twoweek holiday. A Palace spokesman said yesterday that the Royal couple, who will leave New Zealand on Saturday with their son, Prince William, Will leave the Hight in Los Angeles and fly privately to the island of Eleuthera. Prince William will continue on the flight to London. The spokesman, Mr Vic Chapman, said that it was hoped their Royal Highnesses’ wish for an entirely private holiday on the island would be respected by everyone. Asked whether he was referring particularly to the news media, Mr Chapman repeated, ‘everyone.” He said that the visit had been planned as long ago as December. The Royal couple will return to London on May 11. British daily newspapermen have said that it was very unlikely that the British press would disturb the Prince and Princess of Wales’* private holiday in the Bahamas. The Royal couples’ wishes would be respected. The Royal couple will spend 11 days at the family home of Lord Braebourne on Windemere, a tiny island joined by causeway to Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas. The Royal couple will fly to the islands in a plane belonging to Dr Armand Hammer, the head of Occidental Oil. Dr Hammer is also the sponsor of the United World Colleges of which Prince Charles is president.
