Bearish tone evident
Speculative issues that had been under recent buying pressure became bearish on an easier, busy New Zealand sharemarket yesterday. Among issues to fall were the A.N.Z. Banking Group, E. Lichtenstein, James Hardie Impey, R. and W. Hellaby, Regina, and Robert Jones Investments., However, Allflex Holdings, InterTasman, and Stereo FM continued to improve. BNZ Finance firmed further on its profit report, as did Command Services Corporation on its prospects. The Australian sector was up, but miners were steady with Cue Energy the only price change, easing lc. The N.Z.U.C. industrial index lost 3.09 points to close at 750.33.
