Two die when car hits tree
PA Auckland Two teen-agers died early on Thursday when their car hit a tree on Maraetai Beach Road. They were Jane Adams, aged 16, a shop assistant,, of Cleyedon; and Paul Lawrence Pennell, aged 19, a labourer, of Takanini. Two others in the car, Alexander William Brady, aged 18, of Papakura, and Kay Wooderson, of Papakura, were taken to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition. A woman died when she was struck by a car while walking along the northbound lane of the southern motorway at Tip Top corner at 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday. She was Hinemoa Taumarama Robinson, aged 20, unemployed, of Mangere. A man died in Thames Hospital on Wednesday night from injuries suffered in a two-car collision near Thames. He was James Alexander Heron, aged 54, of Thames?'
