Federation faces ‘financial crisis’
PA Wellington The New Zealand Federation of Film Societies is facing a financial crisis because of a big drop in membership, according to
the chairman of the federation, Mr Lindsay Shelton. The federation is the parent body for New Zealand's 45 film societies and Mr Shelton said that over-all national membership had dropped from over 7000 to 5000. "That's a reduction in the federation's income of about $20,000,” he said. Mr Shelton said only five societies out of the 45 had registered a slight increase in membership.
