‘Horse’ the monstrous moggy
“Horse,” the monstrous moggy of Morrinsville, grips a piece of meat.. With him is Tracey Blackbum, aged 11, the same age as “Horse.” "Horse” terrifies other cats. Weighing 15.75 kg (351 b he makes other cats look like mice.
The 700 g (1.51 b of meat he eats each day costs his owners, Ken and Lorraine Blackbum, of Morrinsville, $25 a week. He is also blind, deaf, and paralysed down the left side as a result of a stroke suffered six years ago. “Horse,” which got the name from his likeness to
the Footrot Flats cartoon character, has made up for these problems with his vast appetite.
Mrs Blackbum feeds “Horse” only red meat, fish, or his favourite — rabbit. He also gets an occasional egg nog to keep his coat clean. “After he had his stroke he
really gained weight," Mrs Blackbum said. “He does not get much exercise. It takes him all day to get down the back steps." "A lot of people would think it is cruel to have a eat like ours but he gets round the section ail right. He’s happy," she said.
