Brasses stolen
A brass candlestick and two brass vases were stolen from the altar of St Barnabas’ Church. Woodend, on Wednesday night. Entry was gained at the rear of the church, through a small leadlight window, which showed minor damage. Signs were noted of a person having slept in the church during the night. The burglary occurred sometime between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. The police are continuing with inquiries.
