Wellington pipers win
PA Levin New Zealand’s premier pipe band, City of Wellington, maintained its - winning form at the Wellington-Hawke’s Bay provincial contest in Napier, taking the bulk of the open trophies and the grade 1 title. The provincial contest was a prelude to the national pipe band championships which will be held at Invercargill from February 25 to 27.

Grade 3 — Dannevirke Highland 1, Tawa and District 2, Papatoetoe and R.S.A. 3, Waipawa and District 4, Marton and District 5. Grade 4 — Scots College, Wellington 1. Hutt Valley B 2.
