81 bodies found
NZPA Ankara Turkey Rescue teams had dug out 81 bodies from the wreckage of a seven-storey building in south-eastern Turkey before ending their five-day search for survivors yesterday night, the semi-offical Anatolian News Agency said. More than 40 injured had been rescued from the building, which collapsed on Monday'in the city of Diyarbakir.
It had been condemned as unsafe for occupation although only recently completed. The State radio' said yesterday that the police had arrested the building contractor, Abdulkerim Damis.
