Croquet at its best
Richard Clarke (South Canterbury) demonstrated the finer arts of his sport during a semi-final doubles match when the South Island croquet championships continued at the United greens yesterday.
Clarke' made his ball jump over a hoop and stay on target to hit his opponent’s ball a remarkable 28m down court. He and Les Kaiser (Wellington) went on to beat John Spain and Bill Penman (both Christchurch). 26-10. and will meet Keith and Hazel W’oollett (Wanganui) in the first-life final Rcsults:--
