Men remanded in custody

PA Timaru

No plea was entered by two Christchurch men who appeared in the District Court at Timaru yesterday on charges relating to a highspeed chase yesterday in which a traffic patrol car and a police car were damaged. Anthony Titarangi Ross, aged 22, unemployed, and Noel Henry George Frew, aged 17, unemployed, were remanded in custody by Mr L. V. Farthing, Justice of the Peace, to appear in the District Court in Christchurch on January 11. Ross appeared on charges of reckless driving, failing to stop when signalled, unlawfully taking a car from Christchurch on January 3. and stealing petrol from a Timaru service station.

Frew appeared on two charges of stealing petrol and unlawfully taking a car.
