N.Z. loses match

NZPA Sydnev New Zealand failed by 17 runs to beat New South Wales in the limited over day-night clash at the Sydney Cricket Ground last evening. Chasing 240 runs. New Zealand was seven wickets for 223 after 50 overs. The clash' was arranged to accustom the New Zealanders to the lighting conditions in preparation for their return to Australia in the New Year, to play in the one-day international's against England’ and Australia. New South Wales made 239. with Trevor Chappell top-scoring with 89 Top scorer for New Zealand was John .Morrison with 63.
