Anti-apartheid visitors
Sir, — In reply to L. Westney (December 10) who made very rash comments concerning anti-apartheid visitors to New Zealand, I feel that he/she has been very irrational to suggest that these visitors are actually being paid to agitate in New Zealand by the United Nations and pro-communist African States. Even if their presence in our country causes an uproar, it will bring the attention of the public to the growing level of racial and cultural conflict within New Zealand. I feel that this is a problem that should be brought into the open to show that New Zealand is not such a happy multi-racial country as many New Zealanders believe. — Yours, etc., JULIE MOFFETT. December 10, 1982.
