Match ends in draw
PA Wellington Wellingtons three-day cricket match against ’the touring Australian Capital Territory team petered out to a draw on a rainaffected Basin Reserve vesterdav.
The game was called off at afternoon lea with A.C.T. 197 for
six in its second innings, and holding an over-all lead of 313. Before the break the visiting captain. Russell Rogers, informed his Wellington opposite. Richard Pither. that he was not going to declare the innings at that point, so the skippers agreed there was no point in taking the match any further.
