PA Wellington An Auckland-based Christian group has raised $3OOO in six weeks after appealing for . people to give to the needy their extra income from the tax cuts. “There are also weekly pledges of $5OO right through next year,” said Dr Alan Brash, spokesman for the group, the Church in Community Coalition. "Already the coalition has been able to make six allocations to groups involved in accommodation for the

homeless and work projects for the unemployed," he said. In Wellington last month, a separate group of people associated with the Inner City Ministry, presented $6OO from their tax cuts to the Wellington Unemployed Workers’ Union. The Auckland group has been sponsored by the National Council of Churches’ church and society commission, the Catholic Commission for Evangelisation, Justice and Development and the Ecunemical Secretariat on Development.
