Tomb vault vandalised
PA Wellington Vandals have broken into the Massey memorial vault in Wellington, put graffiti on the walls, and walked over the tomb of a former New Zealand Prime Minister, William Fergusson Massey. The police said the vandals used bolt cutters or similar tools to cut off padlocks and chains from the outer steel door which gives access to the vault. They also cut off padlocks from two other steel doors leading into the tomb, broke their way into a small room off the tomb, and then walked on the tomb. Gang-related graffiti was pencilled and gouged into the walls.#. - Mr Massey died in 1925.
