Shearing contest placings

PA Invercargill Colin King, of Otorohanga, leads the Bank of New Zealand South Island Shearer of the Year competition after three of nine qualifying contests. The competition, which will culminate in the final at the Southern Shears in Gore on February 18 next year, is open to shearers throughout New Zealand. To qualify, they must shear at. five of nine contests throughout the South Island. The eight contestants with the least penalty points from five contests will go forward to the semi-finals and finals at the Southern Shears.
