Britain, too, gets soaked
NZPA London British farmers are reeling from their country’s wettest October for more than 28 years.
By last night the London Weather Centre had measured 113 mm compared with the 1960 record of 132 mm. The October average is 43mm.
The disastrous leather has seen thousands of hectares under water, crops rotting in the ground, and livestock endangered, reported yesterday’s Sunday newspapers.
