Rangiora dominant

Rangiora riders dominated the closely fought annual North Canterbury Pony Club's .mounted games held at Oxford last Sunday. Most competing clubs fielded more than one team. The host club, View Hill had four teams entered: Rangiora had three teams; Kaiapoi and Oxford both had two teams. Amberley had only one team entered but this was no hindrance to it as it finished the day second equal over all. The Rangiora No. 2 team won the day with its No. 1 team coming second with Amberley. View

Hills No. 1 team was placed third. The final scores were very close' .with only one point separating the first and third place-getters. The competition all day was very close, every team riding with determination to win. The good sportsmanship between the teams was also a notable feature of the day. An enthusiastic audience reflected well the efforts of all the teams and the enjoyment had by all who were present during the day.
