Fault line ‘dormant’

Parliamentary reporter

A claim by a former Government employee that there is a fault line at the Clyde dam site was correct, the Minister of Works and Development, Mr Friedlander, told Parliament yesterday.

“There is a fault line there, but it is believed to be dormant.” he said in reply to a question by Mr P. R. Burdon (Nat., Fendalton). There had been no earth movements there for “many, many years" and geologically it was not an active fault line, he said.
