lan Carruthers returned to the course he was formerly a greenkeeper of to win the Templeton Open golf tournament at the Templeton Country Club yesterday. The ■ youthful four-handi-capper. who is now a greenkeeper at Hanmer."scored a three-over-par 149 to win by three strokes from Templeton's Joe Gantley and Garth Domigan. of Russley. Carruthers, a Canterbury country representative, reached his total with rounds of 75 and 74. Other leading scores were:—
