Mr Prebble ‘cheerful’
PA Palmerston North Mr Richard Prebble, member of Parliament for Auckland Central, was “cheerful and chatty" in Dannevirke Hospital yesterday. Mr Prebble was admittedd to Dannevirke Hospital on Wednesday with a cracked pelvis and" concussion after a car accident. His condition yesterday was said to be improving. Mr Prebble, driving alone in a rented Datsun Bluebird, was the only person injured in the crash, near Norsewood. The Datsun was badly damaged. The front and left side were completely crumpled. ! The driver of the other car
involved, a Woodville horse trainer, Mr Eric Ropiha, driving a Mercedes, suffered slight head injuries. The Minister for Papanui. M. K. Moore, travelled to Dannevirke to be with Mr Prebble, after the accident. The Opposition leader, MrRowling, said that Mr Prebble bad left Wellington to drive tb Hastings where he addressed a taxi proprietors’ conference. He was returning to Wellington to continue work on the Samoan Citizenship Bill when the accident happened at.-Butchers Creek, on the Hastings side of Norsewood. ■ Mr. Prebble might be in plaster'for up to two months, Mr Rowling said.
