Richard Hadlee was 52 not out for Nottinghamshire against Worcestershire when rain stopped play. His side had

scored 256 for four, Hadlee's partner at the close being the test batsman Derek Randall. who was 112 not out. Martin Crowe, the young Auckland player who made his test debut last summer, appeared for an International Eleven in a threeday match against Pakistan at Scarborough. At close of play Crowe was 56 not out.
