Martin steals chess limelight
Ben Martin, aged 12, stole the limelight on the second day of the New Zealand school pupils’ chess championship in Christchurch yesterday. Results:— Round 2.— Dreyer drew with Martin; McLaren beat Alexander; Cameron beat Boyd; Ker drew with Hopewell. Round 3— Hopewell drew with Alexander; Martin beat Ker; McLaren beat Boyd; Cameron beat Dreyer.
