N.Z. tenth in hockey
NZPa Kuala Lumpur A substitute. Pafvez Bhatti. scored in extra-time to give Kenya a 1-0 victory over New Zealand and ninth place in the junior World Cup hockey championship in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. New Zealand finished in tenth place in the 11-nation contest. New Zealand failed to score from any of the 13 short corners it had during the 100 minutes of
play, including the 30 minutes ext’ra-timg, after the 0-0 draw at full-time. The Kenyan goal-keeper, Emammuel Ovuol. starred in stopping the New Zealand short corners taken by Graham Reid. Parvez Bhatti, who came on after half-time to replace George Ochieng. collected a loose ball inside the circle and scored with a powerful shot in the eightyfirst minute.
