Strike ends
PA Auckland About 260 workers employed by CERS at the Huntly power station went on strike for the day yesterday in protest over a warning given the combined, unions’ site chairman for driving a company van at “excessive and reckless” speed on the site. CERS’ project. manager, Mr Jack Hardy, said the incident, which he described as “a dismissal offence,” had been admitted but the unions were now accusing CERS of "casting a net to catch the site chairman."
