The last straw

The magician takes a piece of string and threads it through a drinking straw. He bends the straw in half and with a pair of scissors cuts it. He pulls out the string in one piece. The audience gasps in amazement. This trick is quite easy to do and you can make your family and friends gasp with amazement also. Before the trick cut a small slot in one side of the straw. When you thread the string through the straw make sure it is longer than the straw. When the straw is bent in half make sure the slot is underneath. Pull the ends of the string together down-, wards and it should fit into the slot. When you cut the straw the string will not be cut as it .is safely in the slot. Then you can pull out the string in one piece.
