Car stripped and burnt
Thieves took less than three hours to strip a stolen car of its engine and wheels on Thursday night, before settng it on fire. The 1975 Toyota Corolla station waggon, owned by Mrs Julie Mulligan, had been parked and locked in Hagley Avenue, Ribcarton, at 7.45 p.m. Less than three hours later a police patrol found the car on fire at McLeans. Island, minus its engine, wheels, and other parts. It was burnt out. The car was insured for $4BOO.
