Foundation director
Mr R. W. Steele, of Wellington, has been appointed as a director of the New Zealand Sports Foundation. Mr Steele, whose appointment was announced by the president of the foundation, Admiral Sir Gordon Tait, is well known in the commercial community, being chairman of both’ Cable Price Downer and the Mount Cook Group. The chairman of the foundation’s directorate, Mr G. J. Davy, has been, ap-
pointed a trustee. • Sir Gordon also announced the re-appointment of Mr A. D. Myers, of Auckland, as chairman of the finance committee and Sir Ronald Scott, of Christchurch, as chairman of the grants committee. Mr Wilson, Whineray. of Auckland, was > elected as a director of the foundation at its annual meeting on July 6 and both he and Mr Steele have been appointed to the finance committee.
